Tamarac Fire Rescue and Broward Health Begin Medical Resident Rider Program

“Who said Doctors don’t make house calls”

Today began the beginning of a partnership that will help members of the Tamarac Fire Rescue learn from Surgical Residents (13 in the current group) while the Medical Residents will learn the challenges first responders face in the field.

Medical Residents will ride three days a week, 12 hours a day, they will learn the processes we use in the field prior to arrival to an ER or Trauma center. Medical Residents will also be involved in Medical Quality Checks, and special projects of a medical nature.

This program might be the nearest thing to actual having a doctor’s visit you at home, Tamarac Fire Rescue continues to open the doors to new and innovative programs, this week we have started this program with, Dr. Aziz. Welcome to Tamarac Fire Rescue, Dr. Aziz will be riding at our Station 78, on the east side of the community.
