Firefighter Paramedic James Shahan has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
Lieutenant Shahan has been with the department since 2013.
He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration, completed his Fire Officer II Certification, and a certified Peer Support Counselor.

Lieutenant Shahan will assume his duties on 8-1-2022.

Taking First Place at the 2023 First There First Care, Chief Michael Haygood ALS Competition. Hosted by the Fire Chiefs Association of Broward County at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood.
We ended the year the same way as we started, with cadets and family. We recognized all the hard work that was put in by our cadets and those TFR staff who worked tirelessly to build a training curriculum, exercises and so much more. This is a great team effort and a great community program.
