Tamarac, Florida covers a 12 square mile area in western Broward County. Tamarac’s residential population has grown by 15% since 2015 to more than 72,000 today. The City welcomes more and more neighbors who have chosen Tamarac for our community’s quality of life and proximity to South Florida’s beaches, the Everglades, shopping, nightlife, regional sports, cultural events and the arts.
Since 1975, Tamarac Fire Rescue has grown from one station to four stations. We are 24/7 operation. Managed by Fire Chief Jonathan Frasher, Assistant Chief Jeff Lopez, EMS Division Rafael Droz and Division Chief/Fire Marshal Tommy Demopoulos. The Community Risk Reduction Division consists of our Division Chief/Fire Marshal, Assistant Fire Marshal, a Fire Plans Examiner and three Fire Inspectors. The Division is responsible for new construction fire plan reviews and inspections, permit inspections on new businesses, renovations and improvements to sites and systems, fire investigations, public education, community outreach and Emergency Management.

Tamarac Fire Rescue Station 36 was built in 2021 and is located at 7499 NW 72 Street, Tamarac, Florida.

Station 41
Tamarac Fire Rescue Station 41 was built in 1978 and is located at 7501 NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.

Station 78
